John S. Majoros III
Director of Taxable Portfolio Management
John Majoros is a Managing Director and the Director of Taxable Portfolio Management at Wasmer Schroeder (WS), where he oversees all of the firm’s taxable strategies. He is a member of the firm’s Board of Managers, as well as the Executive, Investment, Credit, and Portfolio Management Committees.
Prior to joining WS, John was a Principal of GLC Capital Management LLC (GLC) when WS decided to invest in GLC. The two firms merged in January 2008. Before GLC, John served as First Vice President of McDonald & Company Securities, Inc., where he was responsible for advising large institutional US and international clients on the purchase and sale of corporate, government, and mortgage-backed securities.
John was in institutional fixed income sales for the Smith Barney unit of Travelers Corporation, now Citigroup Global Markets, before working at McDonald & Company. At Smith Barney, he specialized in covering total return-oriented accounts, and also served as a Financial Analyst in the Office of the Chairman of Smith Barney. As a Financial Analyst, John was responsible for analyzing internal operations and potential business acquisitions, divestitures, and combinations at the direction of the firm’s senior management. Additionally, John was the Assistant Treasurer for the Bank of New York, where he evaluated the financial condition of several correspondent branch operations, as well as real estate-related matters.
John earned his BBA in Finance from Cleveland State University and his MBA in Finance from Fordham University.
John’s personal time is devoted to his two passions—investments and wine. He is a true student of the market, an avid wine collector, and enjoys traveling to different wine regions to deepen his knowledge base.
