Chip Norton is a Managing Director and is responsible for business relationships throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US. He is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, and co-leads the firm’s Strategic Marketing Team which directs WS’s business development efforts.
Prior to joining the firm in 2009, Chip was the Managing Director of Fixed Income and Economic Analysis for Fortigent, LLC. He also served as Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income for ING Mutual Funds; and prior to ING worked for Fidelity Investments.
Chip is the author of more than 160 published investment articles and a book, Investing for Income, published by McGraw-Hill (1999). Nationally, Chip has been a guest of numerous radio shows, appeared on CNN and Good Morning America. He was also a routine speaker at various high net-worth bond conferences.
Chip earned his BS in Finance from the University of Vermont.
A 13th generation New Englander, Chip is the father of two daughters and has a yellow lab named Sailor. Chip holds a USCG Master Captain’s license, is a “blue water sailor”, and an avid fly fisherman. Beside his activities on the water, he enjoys downhill skiing. He balances his outdoor hobbies with a love of music and plays regularly with his trio in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
